Southern Wonders: Exploring WA’s Great Southern and Coastal Jewels

Western Australia’s Great Southern region is where rugged coastlines meet rolling farmland, where every bend reveals a new story, and where Villa Carlotta travellers can sit back in comfort aboard our luxury coach and simply enjoy the journey. From Albany’s historic charm to Esperance’s endless turquoise bays, this region promises scenery, serenity, and that familiar Villa touch — where every detail is taken care of from home pick-up to home return.

Great Southern Cheer & Yesteryear

Our Great Southern Cheer & Yesteryear tour captures the charm of Albany and the surrounding countryside. Travelling south aboard our luxury coach, you’ll cross the Darling Ranges and meander through the Wheatbelt before arriving in Albany — the heart of the Great Southern. Each day brings something new, from market mornings and museum visits to gourmet tastings and coastal walks.

In Denmark, you’ll dine at The Lake House, a tranquil retreat where fine local food and wine are served in a stunning garden setting. Back in Albany, discover the region’s history at the Patrick Taylor Cottage and the Museum of the Great Southern, browse through local op shops and antiques, and marvel at the dramatic scenery of The Gap and Natural Bridge.

After each full day, return to the welcoming Clarence on Melville, where comfort and hospitality make every evening feel like coming home. When the tour concludes, our coach journey north is filled with warm conversation and laughter — ending with Villa Carlotta’s signature touch: you’re returned safely home with fresh milk and bread waiting in your hands.

Esperance & Bremer Bay

Step aboard our luxury coach for seven incredible days exploring the pristine coastline and untamed landscapes of Esperance and Bremer Bay. This is a journey designed for travellers who love sweeping beaches, fascinating history, and the kind of natural beauty that takes your breath away.

The adventure begins in Bremer Bay, where time slows to the rhythm of the waves. Explore Wellstead Homestead and its fascinating museum, wander along the wild headlands of the Fitzgerald River National Park, and relax in the comfort of the Bremer Bay Resort. Travelling east, the scenery unfolds into endless white sands and crystal-clear waters as you arrive in Esperance.

Here, you’ll cruise the Recherche Archipelago on the Woody Island Eco Tour, spotting dolphins, sea eagles, and playful fur seals. Discover the surreal beauty of Cape Le Grand National Park, visit the Esperance Stonehenge, and enjoy a hearty lunch surrounded by native birds at the Esperance Bird & Animal Park. The tour finishes inland with a visit to Wave Rock, a natural wonder shaped by wind and time, before the journey home.

After days filled with coastal splendour, wildlife encounters, and great company, guests are returned safely home — complete with Villa Carlotta’s signature farewell gesture: milk and bread for a warm, effortless welcome back.
