Kangaroo Island is a place that lingers in memory long after you have returned home. Wild welcoming and wonderfully diverse it blends dramatic coastlines with untouched bushland thriving wildlife with passionate local producers and peaceful seaside towns with the rugged beauty of Flinders Chase National Park. Our Kangaroo Island Adventures tour invites travellers to embrace all of this during a memorable six day journey through one of South Australia’s most remarkable destinations.

A Journey Begins: From Perth to Adelaide

Your holiday begins with a seamless home collection before boarding your flight to Adelaide. After settling into your centrally located hotel you enjoy a relaxed dinner as excitement builds for the adventure ahead. Adelaide is the perfect starting point with its leafy squares friendly atmosphere and vibrant dining scene.

The Fleurieu Peninsula and Granite Island Tram Ride

The second day brings a scenic journey through the gentle hills and coastal beauty of the Fleurieu Peninsula. Vineyards spill across rolling country and glimpses of turquoise coastline appear between the trees. Soon Victor Harbor welcomes you with its classic seaside charm. Here the famous Clydesdale drawn tram carries you across the glistening causeway to Granite Island where rugged rocks and ocean views create a striking introduction to South Australia’s coastline.

After lunch at leisure you continue to Cape Jervis for the ferry ride across to Kangaroo Island. As the mainland fades behind you the island rises with rugged cliffs and open skies offering a gentle shift into island time and slower living.

Wild Landscapes and Iconic Landmarks

The western reaches of Kangaroo Island are truly untamed. In Flinders Chase National Park everything feels shaped by ancient forces. One moment you are driving through dense bushland and the next you emerge into vast rocky plateaus bordered by the deep blue of the Southern Ocean.

At Remarkable Rocks giant sculpted boulders stand like natural artworks their curves carved by wind and rain over millions of years. Admirals Arch offers a completely different kind of awe with waves roaring through a sea carved cavity as fur seals relax on the rocks.

Island Flavours – Lavender Honey and Eucalyptus

Kangaroo Island is just as famous for its local flavours as its scenery. The gentle scent of lavender fills the air at Emu Bay Lavender Farm where morning tea feels peaceful and grounding. In Kingscote the island’s oldest town you find boutique shops that capture the island’s creative spirit.

Clifford’s Honey Farm reveals one of Kangaroo Island’s most fascinating stories with the world’s purest strain of Italian Ligurian bees thriving in this protected sanctuary. Their honey is golden silky and unlike anything else.

At Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Oil Distillery traditional distilling methods show the island’s pioneering side. A visit to Kangaroo Island Ciders completes the day with crisp refreshing tastings made from heritage apple varieties grown in fertile island soils.

Sea Lions Raptors and Wildlife Encounters

Seal Bay Conservation Park is one of the island’s most unforgettable wildlife experiences. Here you can walk along the beach and boardwalk with a guide as endangered Australian sea lions rest doze and play along the shoreline. It is a rare privilege to see these beautiful animals so close.

Raptor Domain offers its own kind of wonder through interactive bird of prey presentations.

Villa Tour Leader Margaret Buswell described it best:
“Kangaroo Island was everything I hoped for and more. The Raptor Domain was a real standout especially watching the barn owl hop from one delighted passenger to the next like it was doing its own meet and greet tour. I also loved discovering that the island has been a protected bee sanctuary since 1885 – no wonder the purest strain of the Italian Ligurian bee has chosen it as home. It truly is a place full of delightful surprises wildlife and incredible stories at every turn.”

The Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park completes this day with close up encounters with kangaroos wallabies and koalas offering warm memorable moments with some of Australia’s most loved natives.

Farewell Glenelg

Your final day begins with a scenic ferry journey back to the mainland followed by a relaxing farewell lunch in Glenelg. This charming seaside suburb shines with historic hotels leafy streets bustling cafés and calm blue water stretching out over the horizon. It is the perfect place to reflect on your South Australian adventure before your flight home.

Villa’s seamless transfer service brings your holiday to a comfortable and easy close with a special home delivery of you, a loaf of bread and carton of milk.
