Wander Through WA's Wildflower Magic

The Wreath leschenaultia (Lechenaultia macrantha) is a unique and beautiful wildflower native to Western Australia, known for its distinctive wreath-like shape. It's a low-growing plant, typically found in the Geraldton Sandplains and Wheatbelt regions, often in disturbed areas like road verges and gravel pits.

Hyden and the Wheatbelt Wildflower Trail

Expect a feast of colour on this four‑day escape into WA’s wheatbelt spring. Hyden and surrounding reserves bloom with everlastings, orchids, hakeas, grevilleas and broom milkworts from September to October. At Wave Rock, wander floral-lined granite formations glowing orange at sunrise and sunset. Nearby Hippo’s Yawn and The Humps reveal delicate orchids and rare Gungurru eucalyptus along walking trails. Local wildlife like kangaroos, emus and native birds may appear against wildflower backdrops. The Tin Horse Highway features quirky scrap‑metal horse sculptures. You will learn regional history at Wandilla Farm Homestead and the Corrigin Pioneer Museum—each set among vivid wildflower scenery.

Take the Breakers Trail hike for sweeping views of granite outcrops and wildflower carpets beneath sheoak and salmon gum woodlands. Bruce Rock’s wildflower drive offers isopogons, spider orchids and triggerplants in its native gardens and amphitheatre. You may even spot rare underground orchids around Babakin and striking jam-melaleuca thickets near Jilakin Rock. This colourful corner of WA bursts with botanical treasures reliant on winter rainfall. Expect country hospitality, scenic coach rides, nature walks, and photographic moments at every turn.
Activity Level: Suitable for travellers with lower mobility. Walking aids are welcome. Must be able to manage steps and short walks unaided.

Cape Leeuwin Wildflowers

Over five glorious days, a local wildflower expert joins us as we travel through the Margaret River Region’s world-class wildflower landscapes. Leeuwin‑Naturaliste National Park stretches from Cape Naturaliste to Cape Leeuwin and hosts hundreds of species—including kangaroo paw, spider orchids, banksia, grevillea, rattlebeaks and native wattles. The Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse walk offers coastal panoramas while wildflowers bloom along cliffs. In Boranup Karri Forest, sunlight filters through towering trees onto carpets of fairy orchids, hovea and heart-leaf flame peas.

Stroll the Ellensbrook Homestead Wildflower Walk amidst flowering peppermint trees and banksia woodland. Along the coast, sweeping views of Canal Rocks showcase wildflower‑flanked dunes and dramatic granite outcrops. Local birdlife includes honeyeaters and red‑eared firetails flitting through blossoming shrubs. Between flower-filled trails, indulge in wine tastings, local cheeses, organic olive oils and famous Simmo’s ice cream. Explore the artisan village of Witchcliffe and discover Cowaramup’s quirky cow statues. This delightful blend of floral wonder and gourmet indulgence makes for a perfect South West springtime escape.

Cervantes and Kalbarri Wildflowers

This five‑day northern coastline tour visits some of WA’s most iconic wildflower hotspots, including Lesueur and Kalbarri National Parks, Nambung National Park and Hutt Lagoon. Lesueur is a global floral hotspot, home to over 820 native species—expect vivid hakeas, pink triggerplants, scarlet featherflowers and fragile orchids. Guided walks reveal coastal heathlands glowing with yellow, mauve and white blooms. At the Pinnacles, limestone spires rise among flowering golden everlastings, offering dramatic desert views softened by nature’s palette.

Kalbarri National Park combines rugged red gorges with fields of acacias, smoke bush and starflowers. Take in views over Murchison River and Kalbarri Skywalk while birdlife fills the air—keep an eye out for black cockatoos, honeyeaters and rainbow bee-eaters. Your expert guide brings the wildflower wonderland to life, revealing botanical gems unique to the region.

Continue to Bremer Bay, where wildflowers bloom beside pristine white-sand beaches and dramatic headlands.
