Itinerary
Day 1. Perth to Darwin (D)
We collect you from home and transfer you to Perth Airport for your flight to Darwin. Upon arrival, settle in to your hotel for a welcome dinner.
Four nights: Hilton, Darwin
Day 2. Darwin Touring, history, gardens and a dinner cruise (BLD)
Begin the day exploring the botanical gardens of Darwin, established in 1886, they are one of Australia's few botanic gardens where tropical coastal, mangrove and monsoon rainforest plants grow naturally alongside cultivated collections. Following, you will learn the about a significant engineering project at the WW2 Oil Storage Tunnels. After lunch, browse the Museum which includes the fascinating Cyclone Tracy exhibit. Finish the day with a sunset dinner cruise in the harbour.
Day 3. Crocodiles, Humpty Doo and Mindel Beach Market (BL)
This morning, learn about how healthcare has been transformed for people living in remote Australia with a visit to the interactive RFDS tourist facility at Stokes Wharf. Following this, drive out of the city to Humpty Doo for lunch before taking a cruise on the Adelaide River to see the saltwater crocodiles in their natural environment from the safety of the vessel. This evening, enjoy a visit to the iconic Mindel Beach Markets. Browse the variety of food trucks and market stands with a balmy beach sunset.
Day 4. Darwin – Free Day (BD)
Today is a free day at leisure. You may want to relax at the hotel and take a leisurely stroll, explore Smith Street Mall or book onto an optional free day excursion to the Tiwi Islands, Litchfield National Park, Kakadu or any other bucket list item. We have some options for you if you would like us to book for you. Come together for dinner to discuss your adventures.
Day 5. Darwin to Uluru (BD)
An early start this morning with a flight to Alice Springs where you will be met by a coach and driven through the heart of Australia to Uluru. On arrival, dress up in your warm clothes as you will be dining outdoors for the iconic Sounds of Silence Dinner including a visit to the spectacular Field of Light installation where 50,000 glass spheres gradually illuminate as darkness falls, giving the effect of a field of glowing wildflowers beneath the stars.
Two nights: Desert Garden Hotel, Uluru*
Day 6. Uluru Sunset (BD)
Today is your day to explore Uluru how you would like, from hikes to flights, or cultural deep dives, the choice is yours. Please contact Villa Carlotta if you would like us to make arrangements for you. Tonight, watch the sunset fall over Uluru with a drink and canapes before dining at an outdoor barbecue while hearing about the night sky.
Day 7. Sunrise at Uluru to Alice Springs (BD)
Wake up early and travel out to watch the sunrise over the beautiful Uluru. After breakfast, take the return journey through the dessert to Alice Springs for a final dinner to share experiences of this bucket list journey.
Overnight: Hilton, Alice Springs
Day 8. Home (B)
This morning, visit the world’s largest classroom, the School of the Air, learn how education has been delivered to students in remote communities across Australia. Follow this by visiting the historic precinct of The Alice Springs Telegraph Station that previously provided a vital link across our vast country using morse code, it now houses meticulously preserved stone buildings serving as a time capsule from the early 20th century. The Train Station Café here also operates as a registered post office. Then it is time to farewell Central Australia and transfer to the airport for your return flight to Perth via Adelaide. Upon arrival we will see you safely home.
*Travel tip: Pack warm clothes for cold desert nights.

Designed for travellers with lower mobility who can manage everyday movement independently. You must be able to embark and disembark coaches, trains, and other transport via steps, carry your own luggage, and walk short distances. Stairs may be encountered at times. Walking aids (sticks and walkers) are welcome. Travellers who bring a companion to help provide assistance may find these holidays suitable.

For travellers who walk confidently and unaided. In addition to Relaxed requirements, expect guided walking tours that may include gentle inclines and stair climbs, some longer days, and multiple hotel changes. Access to accommodation may involve stairs, short walks to facilities, and showers over baths. Walking sticks are welcome unless the tour includes overnight rail or cruising—please check with staff.

For travellers comfortable with full sightseeing days. Building on Moderate requirements, these tours feature more activities, extended periods of standing and walking, and nature-based excursions. You must be able to walk confidently over uneven surfaces at a steady pace, and negotiate busy transport terminals. Expect feature walks for up to 3 hours, and activities that may include small aircraft, vehicles, vessels and watercraft. Not suitable for travellers requiring walking aids or assistance from others.

Requires good general fitness. Excursions will be over more difficult terrain and require a certain level of agility. You will be required to walk confidently for up to 3 hours over uneven surfaces including soft sand, rocky surfaces and creek crossing. Some itineraries will explore remote locations. No walkers allowed.

For travellers with a high level of fitness and previous outdoor experience. Building on Highly Active requirements, these tours involve full days of physical activity in remote or rugged locations that may be difficult to access. You must be able to walk confidently for 6 or more hours per day over multiple days while carrying a day pack and be comfortable walking in varied weather conditions. Not suitable for travellers using walking aids or requiring assistance.
