Spring brings the Great Southern to life and this five-day journey showcases some of Western Australia’s most remarkable wildflower regions scenic coastlines and iconic natural landmarks. Travel from the historic port city of Albany to the rugged peaks of the Stirling Range then continue to the pristine shores of Bremer Bay before finishing in Hyden home to the world-famous Wave Rock. Enjoy expert-led wildflower touring a peaceful river cruise heritage discoveries and unforgettable landscapes filled with colour and contrast.
Itinerary
Day 1. Perth to Albany – Great Southern Gateway (D)
Depart Perth and travel south crossing the Darling Range and journeying through Wheatbelt towns before arriving in the historic coastal city of Albany. Enjoy scenic countryside along the way as the landscapes gradually change from farmland to rugged southern coastline.
2 nights: Ace Accommodation Albany
Day 2. Kalgan River Cruise and Albany Coastline (BD)
This morning enjoy a relaxing cruise along the Kalgan River travelling from Oyster Harbour into ancient waterways rich in wildlife and history. The afternoon is free to enjoy Albany at leisure with time to explore the foreshore historic precincts or simply relax by the water.
Day 3. Stirling Range and Bremer Bay Coast (BLD)
Travel into Stirling Range National Park where dramatic mountain peaks and spring wildflowers create a spectacular setting. A local wildflower guide shares insight into the region’s unique flora and landscapes as you journey through the park. Continue to Ongerup to visit the Yongergnow Australian Malleefowl Centre before travelling south to the picturesque coastal town of Bremer Bay.
1 night: Bremer Bay Resort Bremer Bay
Day 4. Bremer Bay to Hyden – Coastline to Wheatbelt (BD)
Enjoy the relaxed coastal atmosphere of Bremer Bay with time to explore the Wellstead Homestead and surrounding estuary landscapes. Continue inland through changing scenery as coastal views give way to Wheatbelt country before arriving in Hyden later in the day.
1 night: Wave Rock Hotel Hyden
Day 5. Hyden to Perth – Wave Rock and Farewell (BL)
Visit the iconic Wave Rock and nearby Wildflower Shoppe to view displays of Western Australian flora. Travel through the Wheatbelt and enjoy a farewell lunch before continuing to Perth where you will be met and taken safely home.
Please note that the appearance of wildflowers is a natural event dependent on seasonal conditions and rainfall and therefore cannot be guaranteed.

Designed for travellers with lower mobility who can manage everyday movement independently. You must be able to embark and disembark coaches, trains, and other transport via steps, carry your own luggage, and walk short distances. Stairs may be encountered at times. Walking aids (sticks and walkers) are welcome. Travellers who bring a companion to help provide assistance may find these holidays suitable.

For travellers who walk confidently and unaided. In addition to Relaxed requirements, expect guided walking tours that may include gentle inclines and stair climbs, some longer days, and multiple hotel changes. Access to accommodation may involve stairs, short walks to facilities, and showers over baths. Walking sticks are welcome unless the tour includes overnight rail or cruising—please check with staff.

For travellers comfortable with full sightseeing days. Building on Moderate requirements, these tours feature more activities, extended periods of standing and walking, and nature-based excursions. You must be able to walk confidently over uneven surfaces at a steady pace, and negotiate busy transport terminals. Expect feature walks for up to 3 hours, and activities that may include small aircraft, vehicles, vessels and watercraft. Not suitable for travellers requiring walking aids or assistance from others.

Requires good general fitness. Excursions will be over more difficult terrain and require a certain level of agility. You will be required to walk confidently for up to 3 hours over uneven surfaces including soft sand, rocky surfaces and creek crossing. Some itineraries will explore remote locations.
