Your holiday itinerary (ex Perth, Western Australia)

Day 1. Perth to Sunshine Coast Hinterland (D)
Your holiday begins as we collect you from home and fly to Brisbane. On arrival, travel into the lush Sunshine Coast Hinterland, where rolling green hills and creative communities shape the character of Montville. Settle into your hotel and enjoy a relaxed welcome dinner.
4 nights: Montville Inn, Montville

Day 2. Australia Zoo (BD)
Enjoy a full day discovering Australia Zoo, home to more than 1,200 animals and countless wildlife presentations. From playful otters to powerful crocodiles, the zoo brings conservation stories to life. Later, visit the Landsborough Museum, where artefacts and photographs paint a vivid picture of early settler life. Return to Montville for dinner and a peaceful evening in the hinterland.

Day 3. Eumundi Market, The Ginger Factory and Noosa (BD)
Begin the day at The Ginger Factory, wandering through subtropical gardens and sampling sweet treats. Continue to the thriving Eumundi Markets, where artisans, growers and makers fill the streets with colour and creativity. In the afternoon, enjoy a gentle cruise along the Noosa River before free time on bustling Hastings Street. Return to Montville for dinner and a relaxing evening.

Day 4. Maleny Botanic Garden (BD)
Immerse yourself in the tranquillity of the Maleny Botanic Garden, a sanctuary of rainforest, waterfalls and panoramic views of the Glass House Mountains. Wander the gardens, meet the resident birds and enjoy the fresh mountain air. Spend the afternoon at leisure in the hinterland before dinner this evening.

Day 5. Caboolture Historical Village (BLD)
Step back in time at Caboolture Historical Village, home to more than 70 restored buildings and a remarkable collection of memorabilia. Discover vintage shops, machinery and everyday items that trace the region’s past. Continue into Lamington National Park and settle into O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat, perched high above the treetops and surrounded by forested slopes.
3 nights: O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat

Day 6. Rainforest Retreat – history tour, sunset experience and Glow Worms (BLD)
Awake to birdsong and mountain views before joining local guides for a 4WD journey through the rainforest to a scenic lookout, where billy tea and damper are prepared over an open fire. Enjoy free time to explore the retreat before an unforgettable sunset experience at a remote viewpoint. After dinner, follow your guide into the ancient rainforest for a magical visit to the Glow Worm grotto, where thousands of tiny lights shimmer across the rock face.

Day 7. Rainforest Retreat – wildlife encounters and birds of prey show (BLD)
Begin the morning with guided birdwatching before meeting some of Australia’s most intriguing creatures during a wildlife encounter. Wander the Tree Top Walkway for a canopy-level view of the forest and enjoy lunch surrounded by nature. This afternoon, witness the Birds of Prey show before a 4WD journey to another scenic lookout. Return to the retreat for a final dinner together.

Day 8. Gold Coast to Perth (B)
After breakfast, farewell the rainforest and transfer to Brisbane Airport for your flight home. Arrive in Perth where your Villa representative will ensure you are returned safely to your door.

Our tour activity levels are a guide to the required fitness level for each of our holidays.


Look out for the feet when reading about a tour!

  • Relaxed

    Designed for travellers with lower mobility who can manage everyday movement independently. You must be able to embark and disembark coaches, trains, and other transport via steps, carry your own luggage, and walk short distances. Stairs may be encountered at times. Walking aids (sticks and walkers) are welcome. Travellers who bring a companion to help provide assistance may find these holidays suitable.

  • Moderate

    For travellers who walk confidently and unaided. In addition to Relaxed requirements, expect guided walking tours that may include gentle inclines and stair climbs, some longer days, and multiple hotel changes. Access to accommodation may involve stairs, short walks to facilities, and showers over baths. Walking sticks are welcome unless the tour includes overnight rail or cruising—please check with staff.

  • Active

    For travellers comfortable with full sightseeing days. Building on Moderate requirements, these tours feature more activities, extended periods of standing and walking, and nature-based excursions. You must be able to walk confidently over uneven surfaces at a steady pace, and negotiate busy transport terminals. Expect feature walks for up to 3 hours, and activities that may include small aircraft, vehicles, vessels and watercraft. Not suitable for travellers requiring walking aids or assistance from others.

  • Highly Active

    Requires good general fitness. Excursions will be over more difficult terrain and require a certain level of agility. You will be required to walk confidently for up to 3 hours over uneven surfaces including soft sand, rocky surfaces and creek crossing. Some itineraries will explore remote locations. No walkers allowed.

  • Challenging

    For travellers with a high level of fitness and previous outdoor experience. Building on Highly Active requirements, these tours involve full days of physical activity in remote or rugged locations that may be difficult to access. You must be able to walk confidently for 6 or more hours per day over multiple days while carrying a day pack and be comfortable walking in varied weather conditions. Not suitable for travellers using walking aids or requiring assistance.
