Itinerary

Your holiday itinerary (ex Perth, Western Australia)

Day 1. Perth to Hyden (D)
We collect you from home, then travel to the historic town of Northam. Located on the banks of the Avon River, the extraordinary PUBLIC silo art trail begins here. View silos featuring country characters, bold colours and abstract patterns. In the afternoon, travel the Wheatbelt countryside on your way to Hyden.
Two nights: Wave Rock Motel, Hyden

Day 2. Wave Rock (BD)
Begin today at one of Australia’s most famous landforms, the spectacular Wave Rock. This giant wave of multi-coloured granite will take your breath away. Nearby is the Wildflower Shoppe, Visitor Centre, a wildlife park, Lace Place and a Souvenir Shop. At your leisure, view the wonderful display of Western Australian wildflowers, browse the gifts and explore the historic exhibits

Day 3. Newdegate and Pingrup silo art (BLD)
Departing Hyden this morning we continue our journey through the Central Wheatbelt, travelling to Newdegate. It is here we continue the silo art trail with one of the locals who was instrumental in getting the beautiful murals painted on silos. Native wildlife takes centre stage on the silos here. In Lake Grace, join us on a guided walk through the old-style wards, duty room, kitchen and laundry of one of three remaining Australian Inland Mission hospitals. Touring continues to Pingrup, where the silos have been transformed to showcase the culture of the town before travelling on to Albany.
Three nights: Clarence on Melville Motel, Albany

Day 4. Wildlife and history cruise (BD)
Stretch your legs at Middleton Beach then take a wildlife and history cruise. From Emu Point, cruise Oyster Harbour and the ancient Kalgan River. Meet Percy the pelican, watch giant rays through the boat’s glass bottom and enjoy a funny live commentary including poetry and Anzac legends. The afternoon is then at leisure

Day 5. Denmark and Greens Pool (BLD)
Today visit an artisan chocolatier, sample delicious treats at the Denmark Good Food Factory and enjoy lunch at The Lake House Denmark. We then take the short journey to the coast to view beautiful Greens Pool

Day 6. Albany to Perth (BL)
We will stop for morning tea and a farewell lunch in Williams, before arriving in Perth, where our courtesy small charter vehicles will see you safely home.

In addition to Relaxed requirements, expect guided walking tours that may include gentle inclines and stair climbs, some longer days, and multiple hotel changes. Access to accommodation may involve stairs, short walks to facilities, and showers over baths. Walking sticks are welcome unless the tour includes overnight rail or cruising—please check with staff.

  • Active

Building on Moderate requirements, these tours feature more activities, extended periods of standing and walking, and nature-based excursions. You must be able to walk confidently over uneven surfaces at a steady pace, and negotiate busy transport terminals.
