Discover Western Australia’s spectacular North West on this seven-day journey. Fly direct to Learmonth and explore the turquoise waters and colourful gorges of Cape Range National Park, then travel along the coast to the historic pearling and salt town of Onslow. Continue to Karratha, gateway to the Pilbara, to see ancient Aboriginal rock art at Murujuga, the busy working port of Dampier and the beautifully preserved ghost town of Cossack, before flying home from Karratha. This tour offers a fascinating mix of coastal scenery, local history and the industry that powers the North West.
Itinerary
Day 1. Perth to Exmouth – Fly to the Ningaloo Coast (D)
We collect you from home and transfer you to Perth Airport for your flight north to Learmonth. On arrival, travel into Exmouth, gateway to Cape Range National Park, with a short tour of the town before checking in to your hotel. Enjoy dinner together this evening.
Two nights: Potshot Hotel Resort, Exmouth
Day 2. Cape Range National Park – Yardie Creek Cruise (BLD)
This morning travel through Cape Range National Park to Yardie Creek. On a peaceful cruise, learn about the area’s Aboriginal history, plants and animals as you take in the colourful gorge cliffs and abundant wildlife. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park, then visit the Milyering Discovery Centre to learn more about the region before returning to Exmouth for dinner.
Day 3. Exmouth to Onslow – Historic Pearling and Salt Town (BLD)
Farewell Exmouth and travel to Bullara Station for morning tea, then continue on to the historic pearling and salt town of Onslow. After a picnic lunch, explore the Goods Shed Museum and walk part of the Onslow Heritage Trail before checking in to your resort and enjoying dinner.
Two nights: Onslow Beach Resort, Onslow
Day 4. Onslow – Community Gardens and Chevron Wheatstone Project (BD)
Start the day at the Onslow Community Gardens, then take a tour of the Chevron Wheatstone Project, one of the world’s largest LNG developments. Enjoy lunch at leisure and free time in the afternoon to relax at the resort or walk along the beach, before dinner this evening.
Day 5. Onslow to Karratha – Murujuga Rock Art (BD)
This morning farewell Onslow and travel to Karratha, gateway to the Pilbara, with lunch at leisure along the way. After checking in, join a guided tour to see the ancient Aboriginal rock art of Murujuga before dinner.
Two nights: Karratha International Hotel, Karratha
Day 6. Dampier, Point Samson and Cossack – The Pilbara Coast (BLD)
Today explore the Pilbara coast, starting with a tour of Dampier Port, one of the largest bulk export ports in the world. Please wear a long-sleeved shirt, long pants and fully enclosed shoes for this tour. Stop to see the famous Red Dog statue, then enjoy lunch in the fishing village of Point Samson. This afternoon, explore the heritage buildings and museum of the historic ghost town of Cossack before returning to Karratha for dinner.
Day 7. Karratha to Perth – Farewell to the North West (B)
Enjoy a relaxed morning with a late checkout before transferring to Karratha Airport for your flight home to Perth. On arrival you will be taken safely home with a suitcase full of memories from the Ningaloo Coast and the Pilbara.

Designed for travellers with lower mobility who can manage everyday movement independently. You must be able to embark and disembark coaches, trains, and other transport via steps, carry your own luggage, and walk short distances. Stairs may be encountered at times. Walking aids (sticks and walkers) are welcome. Travellers who bring a companion to help provide assistance may find these holidays suitable.

For travellers who walk confidently and unaided. In addition to Relaxed requirements, expect guided walking tours that may include gentle inclines and stair climbs, some longer days, and multiple hotel changes. Access to accommodation may involve stairs, short walks to facilities, and showers over baths. Walking sticks are welcome unless the tour includes overnight rail or cruising—please check with staff.

For travellers comfortable with full sightseeing days. Building on Moderate requirements, these tours feature more activities, extended periods of standing and walking, and nature-based excursions. You must be able to walk confidently over uneven surfaces at a steady pace, and negotiate busy transport terminals. Expect feature walks for up to 3 hours, and activities that may include small aircraft, vehicles, vessels and watercraft. Not suitable for travellers requiring walking aids or assistance from others.
