Itinerary

Your holiday itinerary (ex Perth, Western Australia)

Day 1. Perth to Melbourne (D)
We collect you from home and transfer you to the Perth Airport for your flight to Melbourne. Upon arrival, settle in to your hotel and enjoy a welcome dinner.
Four nights: Vibe Hotel, Melbourne.

Day 2. Fitzroy Gardens, St Kilda and Rippon Lea Estate (BD)
Begin your day by wandering through the peaceful Fitzroy Gardens, home to the historic Cooks' Cottage and the stunning Conservatory, bursting with seasonal floral displays. Nearby, there’s also the opportunity to visit the Shrine of Remembrance, a serene and moving tribute with lovely views across the city. Enjoy lunch at leisure in the seaside suburb of St Kilda before visiting the gardens and mansion of Rippon Lea Estate. Built in 1868, it housed Mr and Mrs Sargood, their 9 children, 7 maids, a butler, 7 gardeners, a coachman and a groom. There are 14 acres of heritage gardens with a lake, a lookout tower, historic orchard, sweeping lawns and the largest fernery in the Southern Hemisphere. It is also dahlia season so there will be bursts of colour to enjoy!

Day 3. Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show (BD)
Today is dedicated to the breathtaking Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show, one of the world’s leading garden events. Enjoy a full day immersed in spectacular floral displays, innovative landscape designs, gardening exhibits and boutique stalls, all set within the beautiful heritage-listed Carlton Gardens. Later in the day, you may return to the hotel via a scheduled coach transfer or choose to make your own way using Melbourne’s convenient tram network.

Day 4. Melbourne at leisure & Gardens by Twilight (B)
Today is yours to explore Melbourne at your own pace. You may choose to discover the vibrant Federation Square, home to a range of cultural attractions (own expense). Take a stroll through Melbourne’s historic arcades and laneways, browse the bustling Queen Victoria Market or enjoy some retail therapy in the city’s renowned shopping precincts. Whatever your interests, your professional Tour Leader will be on hand to offer recommendations and assistance throughout the day. This evening, we visit the Melbourne International Flower Show for the magical Gardens by Twilight event. Enjoy live music, beautifully lit floral displays and a fantastic selection of food stalls where you can dine at your leisure (own expense).

Please note: Your day ticket to Melbourne International Flower Show allows “leave and come back” in one day. If you wish to visit during the day, please ask your Tour Leader for a ticket. Additional please see security guard on the way out to get a pass out/stamp.

Day 5. Melbourne to Perth (B)
Bid farewell to Melbourne and commence the journey home to Perth. Upon arrival we will see you safely home.

With such a diverse collection of travel options, we want to ensure you choose the right holiday for you.


Our tour activity levels are a guide to the required fitness level for each of our holidays.


Look out for the feet when reading about a tour!

  • Relaxed

    Designed for travellers with lower mobility who can manage everyday movement independently. You must be able to embark and disembark coaches, trains, and other transport via steps, carry your own luggage, and walk short distances. Stairs may be encountered at times. Walking aids (sticks and walkers) are welcome. Travellers who bring a companion to help provide assistance may find these holidays suitable.

  • Moderate

    For travellers who walk confidently and unaided. In addition to Relaxed requirements, expect guided walking tours that may include gentle inclines and stair climbs, some longer days, and multiple hotel changes. Access to accommodation may involve stairs, short walks to facilities, and showers over baths. Walking sticks are welcome unless the tour includes overnight rail or cruising—please check with staff.

  • Active

    For travellers comfortable with full sightseeing days. Building on Moderate requirements, these tours feature more activities, extended periods of standing and walking, and nature-based excursions. You must be able to walk confidently over uneven surfaces at a steady pace, and negotiate busy transport terminals. Expect feature walks for up to 3 hours, and activities that may include small aircraft, vehicles, vessels and watercraft. Not suitable for travellers requiring walking aids or assistance from others.

  • Highly Active

    Requires good general fitness. Excursions will be over more difficult terrain and require a certain level of agility. You will be required to walk confidently for up to 3 hours over uneven surfaces including soft sand, rocky surfaces and creek crossing. Some itineraries will explore remote locations. No walkers allowed.

  • Challenging

    For travellers with a high level of fitness and previous outdoor experience. Building on Highly Active requirements, these tours involve full days of physical activity in remote or rugged locations that may be difficult to access. You must be able to walk confidently for 6 or more hours per day over multiple days while carrying a day pack and be comfortable walking in varied weather conditions. Not suitable for travellers using walking aids or requiring assistance.
