Your holiday itinerary (ex Perth, Western Australia)

Day 1. Perth to Margaret River – Journey to the South West (D)
We collect you from home and travel south to Café Cherie in Pinjarra for morning tea. Continue to Bunbury for lunch at leisure, then travel on to Margaret River, your home for the next four nights. Settle in before coming together for dinner at the hotel.
Four nights: Grande Escape, Margaret River

Day 2. Margaret River Produce – Olive Oil, Chocolate and Berries (BD)
Spend the day tasting the region’s famous produce. Start at Olio Bello to learn about organic olive oil and enjoy tastings, then visit Metricup to sample the finest at Margaret River Nuts and Cereals and handmade chocolates at Gabriel Chocolate. Enjoy lunch at leisure in the town of Margaret River, then visit the Berry Farm in Rosa Glen to taste homemade jams, preserves and desserts. Finish the afternoon with a wine tasting at Edwards Wines before dinner at the hotel.

Day 3. Cowaramup and Dunsborough – Country Charm and Coastal Views (BD)
Enjoy morning tea in Cowaramup among its famous cow statues, then taste sweet treats at the Candy Cow and browse the local shops. Continue to Dunsborough for lunch at leisure and some shopping, followed by a treat at Simmo’s Ice Creamery. This afternoon, take a scenic drive through Canal Rocks and Yallingup to enjoy the beautiful coastline before returning to the hotel for dinner.

Day 4. Margaret River – Christmas in July at Rustico (BLD)
Begin the day with morning tea and a guided visit to the Old Settlement, learning about the region’s early settlers. Then head to Rustico at Hay Shed Hill for a festive Christmas in July lunch with all the trimmings, surrounded by beautiful vineyard views. Return to the hotel for a relaxing afternoon and a light supper this evening.

Day 5. Margaret River to Perth – Farewell High Tea (BL)
Journey home along the South Western Highway through the country towns of Brunswick Junction and Harvey, stopping for a cheese tasting in Harvey. Enjoy a farewell high tea lunch at Peel Manor House before continuing to Perth, where you will be taken safely home.

Look out for the feet when reading about a tour!

  • Relaxed

    Designed for travellers with lower mobility who can manage everyday movement independently. You must be able to embark and disembark coaches, trains, and other transport via steps, carry your own luggage, and walk short distances. Stairs may be encountered at times. Walking aids (sticks and walkers) are welcome. Travellers who bring a companion to help provide assistance may find these holidays suitable.

  • Moderate

    For travellers who walk confidently and unaided. In addition to Relaxed requirements, expect guided walking tours that may include gentle inclines and stair climbs, some longer days, and multiple hotel changes. Access to accommodation may involve stairs, short walks to facilities, and showers over baths. Walking sticks are welcome unless the tour includes overnight rail or cruising—please check with staff.

  • Active

    For travellers comfortable with full sightseeing days. Building on Moderate requirements, these tours feature more activities, extended periods of standing and walking, and nature-based excursions. You must be able to walk confidently over uneven surfaces at a steady pace, and negotiate busy transport terminals. Expect feature walks for up to 3 hours, and activities that may include small aircraft, vehicles, vessels and watercraft. Not suitable for travellers requiring walking aids or assistance from others.

  • Highly Active

    Requires good general fitness. Excursions will be over more difficult terrain and require a certain level of agility. You will be required to walk confidently for up to 3 hours over uneven surfaces including soft sand, rocky surfaces and creek crossing. Some itineraries will explore remote locations. No walkers allowed.

  • Challenging

    For travellers with a high level of fitness and previous outdoor experience. Building on Highly Active requirements, these tours involve full days of physical activity in remote or rugged locations that may be difficult to access. You must be able to walk confidently for 6 or more hours per day over multiple days while carrying a day pack and be comfortable walking in varied weather conditions. Not suitable for travellers using walking aids or requiring assistance.
