Discover the natural wonders of Western Australia’s Coral Coast on this five-day journey north from Perth. Travel along the scenic Indian Ocean Drive to Cervantes and on to Kalbarri, stopping to admire the bright colours of the Pink Lake at Port Gregory. Cruise the peaceful Murchison River, watch the pelicans being fed on the foreshore and enjoy the coastal scenery of Kalbarri. In Kalbarri National Park, step out on the Kalbarri Skywalk for sweeping views over ancient gorges and seasonal wildflowers. This tour offers a relaxed balance of coastal scenery, wilderness and country towns.
Itinerary
Day 1. Perth to Cervantes – Stars, Science and the Coast (D)
We collect you from home and travel north to Gingin for morning tea and a visit to the Gravity Discovery Centre. Continue to the coast for lunch at leisure in Lancelin, then follow the Indian Ocean Drive to Cervantes. This afternoon, visit the Cervantes Museum before settling in for dinner.
Overnight: Cervantes Pinnacles Motel, Cervantes
Day 2. Cervantes to Kalbarri – Lake Thetis and the Pink Lake (BD)
This morning explore Lake Thetis, home to ancient living stromatolites, before heading north through Dongara. Enjoy morning tea along the way and lunch at leisure in Geraldton. Continue through Northampton to admire the bright pink waters of Hutt Lagoon at Port Gregory before arriving in the beautiful coastal town of Kalbarri.
Two nights: Kalbarri Edge Resort, Kalbarri
Day 3. Kalbarri – Murchison River Cruise (BLD)
Start the day with a gentle walk along the Kalbarri waterfront. Later this morning, enjoy a cruise on the Murchison River with Kalbarri Wilderness Cruises, taking in the ancient landscape, native birds and wildlife along the river banks. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure in Kalbarri before dinner at your resort.
Day 4. Kalbarri National Park and Skywalk to Geraldton (BLD)
Begin the morning on the Kalbarri foreshore watching the resident pelicans being hand fed. Travel into the heart of Kalbarri National Park and step out onto the Kalbarri Skywalk for amazing views over the gorge, with lunch at the Skywalk Café. This afternoon, travel south to Geraldton and enjoy dinner at Skeetas overlooking the ocean.
Overnight: Hospitality Inn, Geraldton
Day 5. Geraldton to Perth – Farewell to the Coral Coast (BL)
Begin the journey home along the coast with morning tea in Jurien Bay, keeping an eye out for sea lions. Gather for a farewell lunch at the Endeavour Tavern in Lancelin before continuing to Perth, where you will be taken safely home.

Designed for travellers with lower mobility who can manage everyday movement independently. You must be able to embark and disembark coaches, trains, and other transport via steps, carry your own luggage, and walk short distances. Stairs may be encountered at times. Walking aids (sticks and walkers) are welcome. Travellers who bring a companion to help provide assistance may find these holidays suitable.

For travellers who walk confidently and unaided. In addition to Relaxed requirements, expect guided walking tours that may include gentle inclines and stair climbs, some longer days, and multiple hotel changes. Access to accommodation may involve stairs, short walks to facilities, and showers over baths. Walking sticks are welcome unless the tour includes overnight rail or cruising—please check with staff.

For travellers comfortable with full sightseeing days. Building on Moderate requirements, these tours feature more activities, extended periods of standing and walking, and nature-based excursions. You must be able to walk confidently over uneven surfaces at a steady pace, and negotiate busy transport terminals. Expect feature walks for up to 3 hours, and activities that may include small aircraft, vehicles, vessels and watercraft. Not suitable for travellers requiring walking aids or assistance from others.

Requires good general fitness. Excursions will be over more difficult terrain and require a certain level of agility. You will be required to walk confidently for up to 3 hours over uneven surfaces including soft sand, rocky surfaces and creek crossing. Some itineraries will explore remote locations. Building on Highly Active requirements, these tours involve full days of physical activity in remote or rugged locations that may be difficult to access.
