Day 1. Perth to Sydney (D)
Your holiday begins as we collect you from home and travel to the airport for your journey to Sydney. On arrival settle into your hotel and enjoy a relaxed evening meal with your fellow travellers, ready to continue to your island paradise in the morning.
1 night: Novotel Sydney International Airport
Day 2. Sydney to Lord Howe Island (BD)
This morning you fly to Lord Howe Island, where lush green peaks rise from a brilliant blue lagoon. Be welcomed by your friendly island hosts, then relax into the peaceful rhythm of this World Heritage paradise. Take time to settle into your accommodation before meeting the group for dinner at the local bowling club, a warm and easy introduction to island hospitality.

Day 3. Discovering the Island (BLD)
Wake to the sound of birdlife and enjoy breakfast before setting off on a fascinating island tour led by local raconteur Peter Phillips. Hear stories of early settlement, volcanic origins, and unique fauna as you travel through lush valleys and coastal viewpoints. A group lunch at Coral Café offers time to relax before continuing your exploration at your own pace. Later enjoy dinner at the Lord Howe Golf Club with views of the island’s majestic peaks.
Day 4. Volcanic Cliff Cruise and North Bay (BD)
Today you join Anthony, a sixth generation Islander, for an unforgettable glass bottom boat journey across the lagoon to North Bay. Discover thriving coral gardens, turtles and vibrant marine life, with an optional snorkel over the historic wreck known as The Favourite. Enjoy quiet moments on the sand before returning for an afternoon cruise beneath imposing volcanic cliffs. Cruise past the towering face of North Head Cave and the Admiralty Isles while watching for nesting seabirds. This evening naturalist Ian Hutton shares his deep knowledge of the island’s ecosystems before a relaxed dinner at Coral Café.
Day 5. Coral Viewing and Local Encounters (BLD)
Another beautiful morning sets the scene for a coral viewing tour along the southern lagoon, where colourful fish and delicate corals flourish in crystal clear water. An optional snorkel offers a closer look at this spectacular marine world. Afterwards enjoy lunch at the Anchorage, before returning to Leanda Lei for a unique demonstration by a local dog handler who shares the island’s canine management and conservation practices. Dinner this evening is a delicious three course meal at Driftwood.
Day 6. World Heritage Marine Exploration (BLD)
Today’s adventures continue with a glass bottom boat tour showcasing the island’s thriving marine environment. Spot fish, coral outcrops and seabirds as local guides share insights into this extraordinary ecosystem. Enjoy a gentle guided walk to Clear Place, a peaceful lookout that rewards you with sweeping ocean and mountain views. After lunch at Coral Café the afternoon is yours to relax or keep exploring before a flavoursome dinner at the Anchorage.
Day 7. Southern Coral Reef and Nursery Visit (BD)
Immerse yourself in another day of natural beauty as you explore varied landscapes including sandy beaches, palm forests and scenic lookouts. Peter joins you again to guide you toward Little Island where dramatic cliffs and bird colonies create a captivating backdrop. Later visit the island nursery and microbrewery to hear about conservation plantings and island craftsmanship. Celebrate your week together while enjoying a relaxed pizza night at the brewery before a sweet finish back at Leanda Lei Gardens.
Day 8. Lord Howe Island to Sydney (B)
This morning you farewell your island home and travel to the airport for your flight back to Perth via Sydney.

Designed for travellers with lower mobility who can manage everyday movement independently. You must be able to embark and disembark coaches, trains, and other transport via steps, carry your own luggage, and walk short distances. Stairs may be encountered at times. Walking aids (sticks and walkers) are welcome. Travellers who bring a companion to help provide assistance may find these holidays suitable.

For travellers who walk confidently and unaided. In addition to Relaxed requirements, expect guided walking tours that may include gentle inclines and stair climbs, some longer days, and multiple hotel changes. Access to accommodation may involve stairs, short walks to facilities, and showers over baths. Walking sticks are welcome unless the tour includes overnight rail or cruising—please check with staff.

You must be able to walk confidently over uneven surfaces at a steady pace, and negotiate busy transport terminals.
