Itinerary
Day 1. The Prospector Train Journey to Kalgoorlie (D)
Your holiday begins with courtesy collection from home and a transfer to the East Perth Terminal. Board the Prospector and settle in as forests give way to the Wheatbelt and eventually the vast Goldfields landscape. Upon arrival in Kalgoorlie you are transferred to your accommodation to enjoy a relaxed evening.
4 nights: Quality Inn Railway Motel, Kalgoorlie
Day 2. Coolgardie Day Festival (BLD)
Spend today in Coolgardie, known as the Mother of the Goldfields. Visit the Goldfields Exhibition Museum then join the lively Coolgardie Day Festival with its street parade, stalls and entertainment. Take time to explore Ben Prior Park, home to historic mining machinery and local curiosities. Later return to Kalgoorlie after an enjoyable day of Goldfields celebration.
Day 3. Coolgardie Heritage and Local Characters (BLD)
Return to Coolgardie this morning to visit the historic railway station, local Men’s Shed and Warden Finnerty’s Residence. Continue to the Coolgardie Camel Farm Museum where Noel “The Camel Man” shares stories of the region’s camel history. After lunch in the park visit the Coolgardie Cemetery for insight into the hardships faced by early settlers. Finish the day with a gentle walk at Coolgardie Bluff Cultural and Heritage Trail before returning to Kalgoorlie.
Day 4. Kalgoorlie Up Close (BD)
See Kalgoorlie from a new perspective on a tour of the Super Pit, an awe inspiring open cut mine still in operation today. Visit the Goldfields War Museum for an engaging look into the region’s wartime contributions. Spend time along historic Burt Street in Boulder before meeting local artisan Kim “Chunky” Gent for a demonstration of his reclaimed timber craft. Conclude the afternoon with time to relax in Kalgoorlie’s peaceful green spaces.
Day 5. The Prospector Train Journey to Perth (B)
An early transfer returns you to the Prospector for your rail journey back to Perth. Sit back and enjoy the passing landscapes as you retrace your route across the Goldfields and Wheatbelt. On arrival you will be met by a courtesy small charter vehicle and transferred safely home.

Designed for travellers with lower mobility who can manage everyday movement independently. You must be able to embark and disembark coaches, trains, and other transport via steps, carry your own luggage, and walk short distances. Stairs may be encountered at times. Walking aids (sticks and walkers) are welcome. Travellers who bring a companion to help provide assistance may find these holidays suitable.

In addition to Relaxed requirements, expect guided walking tours that may include gentle inclines and stair climbs, some longer days, and multiple hotel changes. Building on Highly Active requirements, these tours involve full days of physical activity in remote or rugged locations that may be difficult to access.
