A Mother’s Day Escape to Denmark’s Coast and Countryside

Celebrate the special women in your life on this relaxed four-day escape to Denmark on Western Australia’s south coast. Travel through rolling farmland and country towns and stay three nights in Denmark, surrounded by forest, farms and sparkling coastline. Taste handmade chocolates and preserve and take in the turquoise waters of Greens Pool. The highlight is a special Mother’s Day inspired lunch at The Dam, the perfect time to raise a glass together. This tour offers a gentle mix of beautiful scenery, local flavours and country charm.
Itinerary
Day 1. Perth to Denmark – Country Roads to the South Coast (D)
We collect you from home and travel south through rolling farmland and country towns. Stop at the Williams Woolshed to stretch your legs and browse, then enjoy lunch at leisure in Kojonup or Mount Barker before continuing on to Denmark. Settle in to your hotel and share a welcome dinner together, the perfect start to your Mother’s Day celebration.
Three nights: Denmark Hotel, Denmark
Day 2. Denmark – Chocolate, Local Produce and Greens Pool (BD)
Start the day at the Denmark Good Food Factory to taste handmade preserves, sauces and ciders, with morning tea from the coach. Next, visit the Denmark Chocolate Factory for chocolates and truffles. Late morning, take in the turquoise water and granite boulders of Greens Pool, one of Denmark’s most loved natural spots. Enjoy lunch at leisure in town before an afternoon visit to the Denmark Historical Museum. This evening, relax over dinner together.
Day 3. Denmark Countryside – Mother’s Day Inspired Lunch at The Dam (BLD)
This morning visit Pentland Alpaca Farm to meet the friendly alpacas, followed by morning tea in the countryside. Continue to The Dam for a distillery tour and tastings, then sit down to a special Mother’s Day inspired lunch in this beautiful setting, a perfect time to toast the special women in our lives. This afternoon, enjoy afternoon tea at the Recollections of War heritage collection before returning to Denmark for a relaxed evening and dinner.
Day 4. Denmark to Perth – Farewell to the South Coast (BL)(BLD)
After breakfast, farewell Denmark and travel north through the forests and farmland of the South West. Stop for morning tea in Kojonup, then gather for a farewell lunch at the Quindanning Tavern. Continue to Perth where you will be taken safely home after a memorable Mother’s Day escape.

Designed for travellers with lower mobility who can manage everyday movement independently. You must be able to embark and disembark coaches, trains, and other transport via steps, carry your own luggage, and walk short distances. Stairs may be encountered at times. Walking aids (sticks and walkers) are welcome. Travellers who bring a companion to help provide assistance may find these holidays suitable.

For travellers who walk confidently and unaided. In addition to Relaxed requirements, expect guided walking tours that may include gentle inclines and stair climbs, some longer days, and multiple hotel changes. Access to accommodation may involve stairs, short walks to facilities, and showers over baths. Walking sticks are welcome unless the tour includes overnight rail or cruising—please check with staff.

For travellers comfortable with full sightseeing days. Building on Moderate requirements, these tours feature more activities, extended periods of standing and walking, and nature-based excursions. You must be able to walk confidently over uneven surfaces at a steady pace, and negotiate busy transport terminals. Expect feature walks for up to 3 hours, and activities that may include small aircraft, vehicles, vessels and watercraft. Not suitable for travellers requiring walking aids or assistance from others.

Requires good general fitness. Excursions will be over more difficult terrain and require a certain level of agility. You will be required to walk confidently for up to 3 hours over uneven surfaces including soft sand, rocky surfaces and creek crossing. Some itineraries will explore remote locations. No walkers allowed.

For travellers with a high level of fitness and previous outdoor experience. Building on Highly Active requirements, these tours involve full days of physical activity in remote or rugged locations that may be difficult to access. You must be able to walk confidently for 6 or more hours per day over multiple days while carrying a day pack and be comfortable walking in varied weather conditions. Not suitable for travellers using walking aids or requiring assistance.
