Itinerary

Your holiday itinerary (ex Perth, Western Australia)

Day 1. Perth to Brisbane (D)
We collect you from home and transfer you to Perth Airport for the flight to Brisbane. Upon arrival you are transferred to your hotel where a delicious dinner awaits as your adventure begins.
One night: Brisbane International Virginia.

Day 2. Tropical Fruit and Byron Bay (BD)
This morning, cross into NSW and start with a visit Tropical Fruit World to discover over 500 unique fruit varieties on a plantation tour complete with tastings. Continue to Byron Bay before visiting Cape Byron Lighthouse, the most easterly point of mainland Australia. Travel on to Ballina via the beautiful coastal route and stop for a photo at the iconic Big Prawn.
Two nights: The Islander Resort, Ballina.

Day 3. The Hinterlands (BD)
Begin your day at the Ballina Naval and Maritime Museum before travelling into the hinterland to Summerland House, a working avocado and macadamia farm. Enjoy morning tea in this picturesque setting before heading to the Lismore Rainforest Botanic Gardens for a guided walk. Return to Ballina to relax before dinner.

Day 4. Coffs Harbour (BLD)
Travel south to the volunteer-run New Italy Museum for morning tea before continuing to Coffs Harbour. Visit the Dutch-themed Clog Barn for lunch and a charming miniature village experience. Explore the National Cartoon Gallery before a fun stop at the Big Banana. Dinner is enjoyed at your hotel.
Two nights: Opal Cove Resort, Coffs Harbour.

Day 5. Jacaranda Festival (BD)
This morning visit the Remember When Cottage Museum for an insight into local agricultural history. Continue to the famous Grafton Jacaranda Festival, where streets and parks are transformed by spectacular jacaranda blossoms. Enjoy free time for lunch and to explore the colourful festivities before returning to Coffs Harbour for dinner.

Day 6. Coffs Harbour to Port Macquarie (BD)
Journey to Nambucca Heads for scenic coastal lookouts before a morning break at Belwood Park. Continue to the Trial Bay Gaol for a fascinating tour, then enjoy lunch at leisure in South West Rocks. Visit the Slim Dusty Centre to explore the life of this much-loved Australian icon before arriving in Port Macquarie for dinner.
Two nights: Waters Edge, Port Macquarie.

Day 7. Timbertown and Koala Hospital (BLD)
Step back in time at Timbertown Heritage Park, where the recreated pioneer village brings history to life through steam trains, bullock displays and heritage crafts. After lunch at the Sea Acres Rainforest Centre, visit the Koala Hospital and Research Centre for a guided experience. Enjoy free time this afternoon before dinner at your hotel.

Day 8. Port Macquarie to Central Coast (BLD)
Travel south to the National Motorcycle Museum in Nabiac, home to Australia’s largest collection of vintage and classic bikes. Continue to Newcastle for lunch and a visit to the Newcastle Memorial Walk overlooking the dramatic coastline. Later, travel to the Central Coast for dinner and an overnight stay.
One night: The Quarters on Forresters Beach.

Day 9. Central Coast to Sydney (BL)
This morning visit the Hawkesbury River to board the Riverboat Postman lunch cruise. Operating since 1910, this working mail boat delivers post to river-access-only homes while offering an enriching cruise through stunning waterways. After lunch on board, continue to Sydney Airport for your return journey to Perth.

Look out for the feet when reading about a tour!

  • Relaxed

    Designed for travellers with lower mobility who can manage everyday movement independently. You must be able to embark and disembark coaches, trains, and other transport via steps, carry your own luggage, and walk short distances. Stairs may be encountered at times. Walking aids (sticks and walkers) are welcome. Travellers who bring a companion to help provide assistance may find these holidays suitable.

  • Moderate

    For travellers who walk confidently and unaided. In addition to Relaxed requirements, expect guided walking tours that may include gentle inclines and stair climbs, some longer days, and multiple hotel changes. Access to accommodation may involve stairs, short walks to facilities, and showers over baths. Walking sticks are welcome unless the tour includes overnight rail or cruising—please check with staff.

  • Active

    For travellers comfortable with full sightseeing days. Building on Moderate requirements, these tours feature more activities, extended periods of standing and walking, and nature-based excursions. You must be able to walk confidently over uneven surfaces at a steady pace, and negotiate busy transport terminals. Expect feature walks for up to 3 hours, and activities that may include small aircraft, vehicles, vessels and watercraft. Not suitable for travellers requiring walking aids or assistance from others.

  • Highly Active

    Requires good general fitness. Excursions will be over more difficult terrain and require a certain level of agility. You will be required to walk confidently for up to 3 hours over uneven surfaces including soft sand, rocky surfaces and creek crossing. Some itineraries will explore remote locations. No walkers allowed.

  • Challenging

    For travellers with a high level of fitness and previous outdoor experience. Building on Highly Active requirements, these tours involve full days of physical activity in remote or rugged locations that may be difficult to access. You must be able to walk confidently for 6 or more hours per day over multiple days while carrying a day pack and be comfortable walking in varied weather conditions. Not suitable for travellers using walking aids or requiring assistance.
