Sustainability
Villa Carlotta Travel is committed to sustainable, accessible travel that benefits regional communities and preserves the places we love
Sustainability & Positive Impact
At Villa Carlotta Travel, we believe seeing more of Western Australia shouldn't come at the expense of it. As a locally owned West Australian company, we're committed to travelling responsibly for our passengers, our communities, and the places we visit. We are proud to hold Sustainable Tourism (SUST) accreditation and Accessible Tourism accreditation, both through the Tourism Council..
Supporting Regional Communities
This We work mainly in regional areas across Western Australia and Australia and the majority of our tour spend in 2025/26 has gone directly into regional communities. We prioritise small, locally owned businesses over larger operators wherever we can, including Aboriginal-owned businesses along our touring routes.
We actively seek out community events, festivals and local productions to include in our itineraries, supporting the towns and organisations that run them.
Recent examples include:
• The Nannup Flower Festival
• The Bridgetown Spring & Autumn Garden Festivals
• Community celebrations such as the Albany Bicentenary
• Regional performing arts and cultural centres, including the Bunbury Regional Entertainment
Centre (BREC) and Albany Entertainment Centre (AEC)
Reducing Our Footprint
We operate a fleet of 4 coaches and are actively renewing it with more fuel-efficient vehicles — the oldest coach in our fleet is due for replacement within the next 6 months, with further vehicles to follow over the next 3 years.
• Where we hire vehicles, particularly for interstate tours, we prioritise newer, lower-emission models.
• We are reducing in-office and
on-tour printing by moving passengers to QR codes and email for itineraries, tickets, and information.
• We partner with accommodation providers who hold their own sustainability certifications.
• We use biodegradable products while on tour and encourage our passengers to bring reusable water bottles and coffee cups to
events and tours.
Accessible Travel
We hold Accessible Tourism accreditation through the Tourism Council, reflecting our commitment to designing holidays that are inclusive of older travellers and those travelling with mobility aids, so more people can access the benefits of travel safely and comfortably.
