Travel to the foothills of the Snowy Mountains for an unforgettable celebration of bush heritage in Corryong. Ride the XPT Rail through classic Victorian landscapes, trace migrant stories at Bonegilla, and wander Albury’s gracious streets and botanic gardens. Discover the Holbrook Submarine Museum, stroll the mighty Lake Hume Dam wall, and pop into character-filled country pubs and museums. Across two festival days, feel the spirit of Banjo Paterson’s legend come alive with horsemanship, poetry, music and the thrilling re-enactment of The Man from Snowy River.
Itinerary
Day 1. Perth to Melbourne (D)
We collect you from home and transfer you to the airport for your journey to Melbourne. Settle into your centrally located hotel and enjoy a welcome dinner this evening.
1 night: Rendezvous Hotel Melbourne
Day 2. XPT rail to Albury, Lake Hume & Botanic Gardens (BD)
Transfer to Southern Cross Station and board the XPT for a smooth run to Albury. On arrival, admire the historic station precinct, then enjoy time for lunch at your leisure. Walk the Lake Hume Dam wall for sweeping views and join a guided tour of the Albury Botanic Gardens. Check in and dine locally.
5 nights: Comfort Inn Blazing Stump, Wodonga
Day 3. Jindera, Holbrook Submarine & Ettamogah Pub (BLD)
Step into pioneer life at Jindera Pioneer Museum with talk and morning tea. Continue to Holbrook for an included pub lunch, then explore the Holbrook Submarine Museum’s engaging exhibits. Later, call in at the iconic Ettamogah Pub before returning to Wodonga for dinner.
Day 4. Bonegilla Migrant Experience & Albury at leisure (BD)
At Bonegilla, stories of post-war arrivals come to life on a guided visit of historic Block 19. After lunch at your leisure in Albury, enjoy free time to browse Dean Street boutiques, riverside walks or local galleries. Dinner is included this evening.
Day 5. Man from Snowy River Bush Festival – Re-enactment (BD)
Travel to Corryong and take your seat for the stirring re-enactment of Banjo Paterson’s classic. Hear the poem as riders thunder across the arena and soak up festival colour through the afternoon. Return to Wodonga for dinner.
Day 6. Festival day two, Pioneer Women’s Hut & Corryong (BL)
Return to Corryong for a pub lunch before visiting the festival for the second day of bush poetry, market stalls, music and arena events at your own pace. Visit the Pioneer Women’s Hut Museum to explore remarkable domestic history collections, then enjoy time in Corryong township before our late afternoon return. Dinner is at leisure today.
Day 7. Albury to Perth (B)
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your journey home. On arrival in Perth, we will see you safely home.

Designed for travellers with lower mobility who can manage everyday movement independently. You must be able to embark and disembark coaches, trains, and other transport via steps, carry your own luggage, and walk short distances. Stairs may be encountered at times. Walking aids (sticks and walkers) are welcome. Travellers who bring a companion to help provide assistance may find these holidays suitable.

For travellers who walk confidently and unaided. In addition to Relaxed requirements, expect guided walking tours that may include gentle inclines and stair climbs, some longer days, and multiple hotel changes. Access to accommodation may involve stairs, short walks to facilities, and showers over baths. Walking sticks are welcome unless the tour includes overnight rail or cruising—please check with staff.

You must be able to walk confidently over uneven surfaces at a steady pace, and negotiate busy transport terminals. Expect feature walks for up to 3 hours, and activities that may include small aircraft, vehicles, vessels and watercraft. Not suitable for travellers requiring walking aids or assistance from others.

Building on Highly Active requirements, these tours involve full days of physical activity in remote or rugged locations that may be difficult to access.
