From the striking PUBLIC Silo Art Trail of the Wheatbelt to the galleries, studios and community art spaces of Albany, Denmark and Manjimup, this tour celebrates regional storytelling through art. Travel through sweeping farmland, ancient forests and charming country towns, enjoying relaxed social touring, inspiring creative encounters and some of the state’s most scenic drives along the way.
Itinerary
Day 1. Perth to Hyden – Wheatbelt Stories and Silo Art (D)
Travel east from Perth into the Wheatbelt, stopping in the historic riverside town of Northam. Here you will explore the Northam Heritage Centre and view impressive works from the PUBLIC Silo Art Trail, where towering murals reflect regional life and identity. Continue through classic Wheatbelt scenery, with further silo art discoveries along the way, before arriving in Hyden for the evening.
1 night: Wave Rock Motel, Hyden
Day 2. Hyden to Albany – Silo Art to the Southern Coast (BLD)
Today’s journey showcases some of Western Australia’s most striking silo artworks. Visit the colourful silos of Newdegate and Pingrup before travelling south through farming country toward the coast. Arrive in Albany, where art, history and natural beauty combine, and settle in for the next two nights. 2 nights: Clarence on Melville, Albany
Day 3. Albany – Creative Heart of the Great Southern (BLD)
Immerse yourself in Albany’s vibrant arts scene as you explore key cultural institutions and creative spaces. Visit the Vancouver Arts Centre and Albany Town Hall, followed by pop-up exhibitions and community art initiatives at the Museum of the Great Southern. Between gallery visits, enjoy the coastal setting and relaxed atmosphere that makes Albany a standout destination for artists and visitors alike.
Day 4. Albany to Pemberton – Forests, Studios and Southern Towns (BD)
Depart Albany and travel west through Denmark, stopping to view local art displays and creative studios reflecting the area’s strong artistic identity. Continue through the tall timber country to Manjimup, known for its thriving arts community, where you will visit the Manjimup Art Hub. The day concludes in nearby Pemberton, surrounded by towering karri forest.
1 night: Kingsley Motel, Manjimup
Day 5. Manjimup to Perth – Country Towns and Farewell Lunch (BL)
Journey north through the charming towns of Nannup and Balingup, enjoying scenic countryside along the way. A farewell lunch provides the perfect opportunity to reflect on the art, landscapes and connections made throughout the tour before returning to Perth, where you will be taken safely home.

Designed for travellers with lower mobility who can manage everyday movement independently. You must be able to embark and disembark coaches, trains, and other transport via steps, carry your own luggage, and walk short distances. Stairs may be encountered at times. Walking aids (sticks and walkers) are welcome. Travellers who bring a companion to help provide assistance may find these holidays suitable.

For travellers who walk confidently and unaided. In addition to Relaxed requirements, expect guided walking tours that may include gentle inclines and stair climbs, some longer days, and multiple hotel changes. Access to accommodation may involve stairs, short walks to facilities, and showers over baths. Walking sticks are welcome unless the tour includes overnight rail or cruising—please check with staff.

For travellers comfortable with full sightseeing days. Building on Moderate requirements, these tours feature more activities, extended periods of standing and walking, and nature-based excursions. You must be able to walk confidently over uneven surfaces at a steady pace, and negotiate busy transport terminals. Expect feature walks for up to 3 hours, and activities that may include small aircraft, vehicles, vessels and watercraft. Not suitable for travellers requiring walking aids or assistance from others.

Requires good general fitness. Excursions will be over more difficult terrain and require a certain level of agility. You will be required to walk confidently for up to 3 hours over uneven surfaces including soft sand, rocky surfaces and creek crossing. Some itineraries will explore remote locations. No walkers allowed.

For travellers with a high level of fitness and previous outdoor experience. Building on Highly Active requirements, these tours involve full days of physical activity in remote or rugged locations that may be difficult to access. You must be able to walk confidently for 6 or more hours per day over multiple days while carrying a day pack and be comfortable walking in varied weather conditions. Not suitable for travellers using walking aids or requiring assistance.
