Itinerary
Day 1. Perth to Cairns (D)
We collect you from home for your flight to Cairns via Brisbane. On arrival, transfer to your hotel and settle in before coming together for a welcome dinner with your fellow travellers.
Overnight: Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort
Day 2. Discover Cairns and Dinner Cruise (BD)
Awaken in tropical North Queensland and begin your guided city tour, exploring Cairns’ history, culture and landmarks. Visit Rusty’s Markets and enjoy lunch at leisure before an afternoon visit to the Cairns Aquarium, where you will encounter the extraordinary creatures of the Wet Tropics and Great Barrier Reef. This evening, enjoy a dinner cruise along the tranquil Trinity Inlet as the city lights twinkle on the water.
Day 3. Rainforest and Railways (BD)
Step back in time aboard the historic Kuranda Scenic Railway. Wind through lush rainforest, past dramatic waterfalls and towering mountains before arriving at the picturesque village of Kuranda. Explore the markets, galleries and cafes at your own pace before returning to Cairns on the spectacular Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, gliding above the treetops for breathtaking views.
Day 4. Botanical Gardens and Palm Cove (BD)
This morning, discover the lush tropical wonders of the Flecker Botanic Gardens, home to one of Australia’s most impressive collections of rare and exotic flora. Learn about the plants of the tropics on a guided tour before travelling to Palm Cove for lunch at leisure and time to enjoy the beautiful beachfront. Return to Cairns for free time in the afternoon, followed by dinner at a local restaurant along the Esplanade.
Day 5. Crocodiles and Port Douglas (BLD)
Bid farewell to Cairns as you travel north along the spectacular Great Barrier Reef Drive, where rainforest meets reef. Stop at Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures to see crocodiles up close on a lagoon cruise and meet other fascinating wildlife. Continue to Port Douglas, a relaxed tropical haven filled with boutique shops, cafes and beaches. Spend the afternoon exploring before enjoying dinner together this evening.
3 nights: Oaks Resort Port Douglas
Day 6. Cape Tribulation, Mossman Gorge and the Daintree (BLD)
Travel through ancient landscapes to explore the Daintree and Cape Tribulation. Enjoy morning tea and a guided walk at Mossman Gorge, followed by a Daintree River cruise to spot crocodiles and birdlife. Savour a tropical barbecue lunch surrounded by rainforest before visiting the famous Cape Tribulation Beach, enjoying a sweet treat at the Daintree Ice Cream Company and a scenic photo stop at Alexandra Lookout. Dinner is served at the hotel tonight.
Day 7. Free Day in Port Douglas (BD)
Today is yours to enjoy at leisure. You may wish to browse the village boutiques, stroll along Four Mile Beach, or relax by the resort pool. Optional tours to the Great Barrier Reef can also be arranged. This evening, gather for a farewell dinner to celebrate your tropical adventure with new friends.
Day 8. Port Douglas to Perth (B)
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast and take in your final moments of tropical sunshine before your transfer to Cairns Airport for your flight home to Perth, where you will be returned safely to your door.

Relaxed
Designed for travellers with lower mobility who can manage everyday movement independently. You must be able to embark and disembark coaches, trains, and other transport via steps, carry your own luggage, and walk short distances. Stairs may be encountered at times. Walking aids (sticks and walkers) are welcome. Travellers who bring a companion to help provide assistance may find these holidays suitable.

Moderate
For travellers who walk confidently and unaided. In addition to Relaxed requirements, expect guided walking tours that may include gentle inclines and stair climbs, some longer days, and multiple hotel changes. Access to accommodation may involve stairs, short walks to facilities, and showers over baths. Walking sticks are welcome unless the tour includes overnight rail or cruising—please check with staff.

For travellers comfortable with full sightseeing days. Building on Moderate requirements, these tours feature more activities, extended periods of standing and walking, and nature-based excursions. You must be able to walk confidently over uneven surfaces at a steady pace, and negotiate busy transport terminals. Expect feature walks for up to 3 hours, and activities that may include small aircraft, vehicles, vessels and watercraft. Not suitable for travellers requiring walking aids or assistance from others.

Requires good general fitness. Excursions will be over more difficult terrain and require a certain level of agility. You will be required to walk confidently for up to 3 hours over uneven surfaces including soft sand, rocky surfaces and creek crossing. Some itineraries will explore remote locations. No walkers allowed.

For travellers with a high level of fitness and previous outdoor experience. Building on Highly Active requirements, these tours involve full days of physical activity in remote or rugged locations that may be difficult to access. You must be able to walk confidently for 6 or more hours per day over multiple days while carrying a day pack and be comfortable walking in varied weather conditions. Not suitable for travellers using walking aids or requiring assistance.
