Day 1. Perth to Hobart (D)
Fly from Perth to Hobart, where your Christmas holiday begins. On arrival, transfer to the elegant Hadley’s Orient Hotel, a heritage-listed gem in the city centre. After check-in, settle in and enjoy a welcome dinner to toast the start of your Tasmanian adventure.

Day 2. Hobart heritage (BLD)
Discover Hobart’s layered history on a day of cultural discovery. Visit the Maritime Museum of Tasmania and step inside the fascinating Mawson’s Hut Replica to experience the legacy of Antarctic exploration. Enjoy lunch and a historic tour at Cascade Brewery, framed by the slopes of Mount Wellington.
Day 3. Mount Field and Derwent Valley (BLD)
Head into the wilderness today for a visit to beautiful Mount Field National Park, known for its towering trees and tumbling waterfalls. Lunch is served at the scenic Salmon Ponds – Australia’s oldest trout hatchery – before stepping aboard the Derwent Valley Railway for a charming tour through Tasmania’s railway heritage.
Day 4. Christmas Day on the River (BLD)
Merry Christmas! Enjoy a relaxed start to the day before heading to Macquarie Wharf to board the Spirit of Hobart for a festive Christmas Day cruise. This two-and-a-half-hour journey offers a scenic and celebratory way to enjoy the day, with a delicious three-course lunch served on board. As you cruise the River Derwent, take in sweeping views of Hobart’s beautiful waterfront, passing landmarks such as the Hobart Cenotaph, Government House, the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens, Montagu Bay, Sandy Bay and the historic Battery Point. After disembarking, the afternoon is yours to relax and enjoy the festive spirit at your own pace. In the evening, rejoin the group for a traditional Christmas buffet dinner at Stockman’s Restaurant, where a warm, welcoming atmosphere and generous spread bring a perfect close to your Christmas Day in Tasmania.

Day 8. Huon Valley and return to Perth (BL)
Conclude your Tasmanian journey with a visit to the picturesque Huon Valley. Enjoy a visit to Willie Smith’s Apple Shed where the famous apple pie is on the menu. Next, discover Tasmania’s maritime craftsmanship with a guided tour of the Wooden Boat Centre, showcasing traditional boatbuilding techniques. Stairs may need to be negotiated at times. Travellers with walking aids (sticks and walkers) are welcome and those requiring accompanying assistance and/or carer may consider these holidays.

Expect guided walking tours of attractions with occasional inclines and stair climbs, some long days and multiple hotel changes during the holiday.
