Direct from Italy’s Arena di Verona, Franco Zeffirelli’s spectacular production of Verdi’s AIDA will be the largest opera production ever presented in Australia. Featuring over 600 performers, including opera legends Jonas Kaufmann, Angel Blue, Elīna Garanča and more, this event delivers breathtaking music, monumental sets, and Zeffirelli’s cinematic vision. Combine this with a day in Barossa Valley, Adelaide and Glenelg, this is the perfect summer getaway.
Itinerary
Day 1. Perth to Adelaide (D)
We collect you from home for your flight to Adelaide. Upon arrival, meet your local guide and transfer to the centrally located Majestic Roof Garden Hotel. Unwind from your journey before enjoying a relaxed welcome dinner.
Four nights: Peppers, Waymouth.
Day 2. Adelaide Exploring (BD)
Explore the many plant collections in the Adelaide Botanical Gardens, from the Garden of Health and Mediterranean Garden to the award-winning Rose Garden. Perhaps discover what is housed in the various buildings and conservatories. Visit Carrick Hill, one of Australia’s most intact period mansions that has been lovingly restored. Next you can enjoy the array of local product that South Australia is famous for at the Adeliade Markets. Follow this with a stop at the National Wine Centre to learn about the 65 wine regions of S.A. In the late afternoon venture to the beach side suburb of Glenelg where you can wander the pier for panoramic ocean views before dinner.
Day 3. Barossa Valley (BLD)
Today you will venture to the famous Barossa Valley. Admire the beautiful palm lined road leading into the Seppeltsfield Estate where you will take part in a Heritage Tour of this winery that was established in 1851. After, have some time to wonder the grounds, explore the Jam Factory gallery or try the Vasse Virgin products. Following this, you will be treated to a lunch at Maggie Beers. You will also have time to wonder her farm and browse her instore products. After this, call in at the Barossa Valley Chateau for a wine tasting and to wander the gardens.
Day 4. Free Day in Adelaide – Aida Opera (BD)
Today is your day to spend at your leisure. Perhaps visit the art gallery, take a cruise on the River Torrens, visit the impressive architectural space of the State Library or browse the shops on Rundle Street Mall. Meet for an early evening dinner before the highlight of your tour, the Aida Opera under the stars at the Adelaide Oval.
Day 5. Homeward Bound (B)
After breakfast you will be transferred to the Adelaide Airport for your flight to Perth. On arrival we will see you safely home.

Relaxed
Designed for travellers with lower mobility who can manage everyday movement independently. You must be able to embark and disembark coaches, trains, and other transport via steps, carry your own luggage, and walk short distances. Stairs may be encountered at times. Walking aids (sticks and walkers) are welcome. Travellers who bring a companion to help provide assistance may find these holidays suitable.

For travellers who walk confidently and unaided. In addition to Relaxed requirements, expect guided walking tours that may include gentle inclines and stair climbs, some longer days, and multiple hotel changes. Access to accommodation may involve stairs, short walks to facilities, and showers over baths. Walking sticks are welcome unless the tour includes overnight rail or cruising—please check with staff.

For travellers comfortable with full sightseeing days. Building on Moderate requirements, these tours feature more activities, extended periods of standing and walking, and nature-based excursions. You must be able to walk confidently over uneven surfaces at a steady pace, and negotiate busy transport terminals. Expect feature walks for up to 3 hours, and activities that may include small aircraft, vehicles, vessels and watercraft. Not suitable for travellers requiring walking aids or assistance from others.

Requires good general fitness. Excursions will be over more difficult terrain and require a certain level of agility. You will be required to walk confidently for up to 3 hours over uneven surfaces including soft sand, rocky surfaces and creek crossing. Some itineraries will explore remote locations. No walkers allowed.

For travellers with a high level of fitness and previous outdoor experience. Building on Highly Active requirements, these tours involve full days of physical activity in remote or rugged locations that may be difficult to access. You must be able to walk confidently for 6 or more hours per day over multiple days while carrying a day pack and be comfortable walking in varied weather conditions. Not suitable for travellers using walking aids or requiring assistance.
