Silo art, Wave Rock and coastal wonders in one vibrant escape

Follow the painted path of the West Australian PUBLIC Silo Art Trail and uncover the stories behind towering grain silos, grand granite formations, and dazzling southern coastlines. This six-day escape leads you deep into the Wheatbelt and along stunning southern shores, where dramatic art, natural wonders and local characters bring each stop to life. Discover the colour and creativity of Northam, Merredin, Newdegate and Pingrup, marvel at the world-famous Wave Rock, cruise Albany’s ancient Kalgan River, and dip your toes into the crystal waters of Denmark’s beloved Greens Pool. From regional charm to coastal magic, this is Western Australia at its most vibrant.
Itinerary
Day 1. Perth to Hyden (D)
We collect you from home and begin our journey to the historic town of Northam, where the PUBLIC Silo Art Trail begins. See the striking murals painted on the town’s towering grain silos, capturing the character and colour of rural life. After morning tea and a visit to the Northam Heritage Centre, we continue through Merredin for lunch. In the afternoon, we travel further into the Wheatbelt and arrive in Hyden.
2 Nights: Wave Rock Motel, Hyden
Day 2. Wave Rock (BD)
This morning, visit one of Australia’s most recognisable landforms – the breathtaking Wave Rock. A local wildflower guide joins us in the afternoon to share insight into the unique flora of the region.
Day 3. Newdegate and Pingrup Silo Art (BD)
Leaving Hyden, we travel through the heart of the Wheatbelt to Newdegate. Here, the PUBLIC Silo Art Trail continues with vivid murals featuring native wildlife. We then visit Walkers Hill Vineyard for a delightful lunch and tasting experience. The day continues to Pingrup, where silo art reflects the town’s strong farming heritage. We arrive in Albany this evening.
