Your holiday itinerary (ex Perth, Western Australia)

Day 1. Perth to Canberra (D)
We collect you from home with courtesy collection to board your flight to Canberra (via Sydney). Arriving in Canberra we transfer you to your hotel where a delicious dinner awaits.
Overnight each night: Novotel Canberra, Canberra

Day 2. Canberra Cruising (BD)
Explore the rich history of Canberra with a visit to the National Capital Exhibition, then delve deeper into Australia's past on a guided tour of the National Museum of Australia, where the stories of our people and nation come to life. In the early afternoon, unwind with a peaceful cruise on the picturesque Lake Burley Griffin, followed by an orientation tour of the city. Enjoy the remainder of your afternoon at leisure before we come together again for a delightful evening meal at the hotel.

Day 3. Canberra Balloon Spectacular and High Court (BD)
Wake up early for a once in a lifetime experience as you witness one of the world’s greatest hot air ballooning events, the Canberra Balloon Spectacular. Watch in delight as colourful hot air balloons from across the globe ascend over Canberra’s iconic national landmarks. In the afternoon learn the power of the High Court of Australia and revel in the iconic history of the court.

Day 4. National Icons (BD)
This morning, step into the heart of Australia’s political past at the Museum of Australian Democracy, where decades of politics and passion echo through the historic halls of Old Parliament House. Explore key moments in our democratic journey and admire the building’s elegant 1920s architecture. Afterwards, delve into the rich collections of the National Library of Australia, home to some of the nation’s most treasured stories and cultural artefacts. The remainder of the day is yours to enjoy at leisure before we rejoin for a dinner in a local restaurant.

Day 5. Canberra Guided Tour and War Memorial (BLD)
This morning, discover a different side of Canberra on a guided tour that reveals the remarkable stories of women who helped shape the nation — from visionary city designers to constitutional changemakers and even those involved in the dismissal of governments. Woven between the National Archives, National Library, and National Gallery, their stories cast new light on Canberra’s iconic landmarks and cultural institutions. Continue with a guided visit to Parliament House, delightful high tea lunch at the elegant Queen’s Terrace Café, set within the iconic building. In the afternoon, pay tribute to our servicemen and women with a visit to the Australian War Memorial.

Day 6. Canberra to Perth (BL)
Spend time in the meticulously crafted miniature buildings and beautifully landscaped grounds at Cockington Green Gardens, relish in lunch before we transfer to the airport to board an afternoon flight to Perth (via Melbourne). Upon arrival we will see you safely home.

With such a diverse collection of travel options, we want to ensure you choose the right holiday for you.


Our tour activity levels are a guide to the required fitness level for each of our holidays.


Look out for the feet when reading about a tour!

  • Relaxed

    Suitable for travellers with lower mobility.


    You will be required to embark/disembark coaches, trains and other transport via steps unaided. You must be able to carry your own luggage and walk short distances. Stairs may need to be negotiated at times. Travellers with walking aids (sticks and walkers) are welcome and those requiring accompanying assistance and/or carer may consider these holidays.

  • Moderate

    Required to walk confidently and unaided.


    Expect guided walking tours of attractions with occasional inclines and stair climbs, some long days and multiple hotel changes during the holiday. Your accommodation may require access via stairs, a short walk to reach hotel facilities and have showers over baths.  Travellers with walking sticks are welcome unless there is overnight rail or overnight cruising - please check with staff.

  • Active

    Requires some fitness. Involves longer days filled with activities, excursions requiring standing and walking for extended periods of time and nature-based activities. You will be required to walk confidently over uneven ground and surfactant at a timely pace.

  • Highly Active

    Requires good general fitness. Excursions will be over more difficult terrain and require a certain level of agility. You will be required to walk confidently for up to 3 hours over uneven surfaces including soft sand, rocky surfaces and creek crossing. Some itineraries will explore remote locations. No walkers allowed.

  • Challenging

    A high level of fitness is required. Tours have an emphasis on active pursuits and often explore remote locations which are challenging to access. You will be required to walk confidently for up to 6 or more hours per day and have experience in outdoor pursuits. No walkers allowed.
