Itinerary

Your holiday itinerary (ex Perth, Western Australia)

Day 1. Perth to Canberra (D)
We collect you from home and transfer you to Perth Airport for your flight to Canberra via Melbourne. Upon arrival, your local coach awaits to transfer you to your accommodation in the heart of the capital. Enjoy a welcome dinner and relax after your day of travel.
Overnight: Novotel Canberra, Canberra

Day 2. Canberra to Bega (BD)
Today we travel southeast to the historic gold rush town of Braidwood. Visit the Braidwood Museum before continuing to Mogo for lunch at leisure. This afternoon, enjoy a boutique cheese tasting at the Tilba Dairy in the National Trust heritage village of Tilba. The scenic Wallaga Lake Tourist Drive leads us inland from the coast through Cobargo and on to Bega, the cheese capital of Australia.
2 Nights: Bega Village Motor Inn, Bega

Day 3. Sapphire Coast (BD)
This morning, we cruise through stunning Twofold Bay on the Sapphire Coast. Keep an eye out for dolphins, seals and humpback whales as we pass by Eden’s scenic coastline. We stop in Eden for lunch at leisure before visiting the fascinating Eden Killer Whale Museum and return via the charming coastal towns of Merimbula and Pambula. In the afternoon, tour Wheeler’s Oyster Farm and sample fresh Sydney Rock Oysters.

Day 4. Bega Valley to Jindabyne (BD)
Begin the day at the Bega Cheese Heritage Centre with a tasting and insight into the region’s proud dairy traditions. Then it is off to Bemboka for a morning tea stop at the famous pie shop. In Cooma, enjoy lunch at your leisure before a visit to the Snowy Hydro Discovery Centre, where a short film and interactive exhibits bring the iconic hydroelectric scheme to life. In the afternoon, we arrive in Jindabyne for time to relax or enjoy a walk along the lakeside paths.
2 Nights: Lake Jindabyne Hotel, Jindabyne

Day 5. Kosciuszko National Park (BD)
Today begins at the Snowy Mountains Visitor Centre to learn more about the wildlife, history and trails of the region. Then travel to Thredbo Village and board the Kosciuszko Express Chairlift for a spectacular ride to Eagles Nest, Australia’s highest restaurant. Enjoy lunch at leisure and take a short alpine walk along the Main Range. In the afternoon, visit the Thredbo Alpine Museum for an interesting presentation and finish the day with a tasting at the Wild Brumby Distillery.

Day 6. Jindabyne to Perth (B)
This morning, we travel to Canberra for our return flight to Perth via Melbourne in the afternoon. Upon arrival into Perth, we will see you safely home.

Our tour activity levels are a guide to the required fitness level for each of our holidays.

  • Relaxed

    Suitable for travellers with lower mobility.


    You will be required to embark/disembark coaches, trains and other transport via steps unaided. You must be able to carry your own luggage and walk short distances. Stairs may need to be negotiated at times. Travellers with walking aids (sticks and walkers) are welcome and those requiring accompanying assistance and/or carer may consider these holidays.

  • Moderate

    Required to walk confidently and unaided.


    Expect guided walking tours of attractions with occasional inclines and stair climbs, some long days and multiple hotel changes during the holiday. Your accommodation may require access via stairs, a short walk to reach hotel facilities and have showers over baths.  Travellers with walking sticks are welcome unless there is overnight rail or overnight cruising - please check with staff.

  • Active

    Requires some fitness. Involves longer days filled with activities, excursions requiring standing and walking for extended periods of time and nature-based activities. You will be required to walk confidently over uneven ground and surfactant at a timely pace.

  • Highly Active

    Requires good general fitness. Excursions will be over more difficult terrain and require a certain level of agility. You will be required to walk confidently for up to 3 hours over uneven surfaces including soft sand, rocky surfaces and creek crossing. Some itineraries will explore remote locations. No walkers allowed.

  • Challenging

    A high level of fitness is required. Tours have an emphasis on active pursuits and often explore remote locations which are challenging to access. You will be required to walk confidently for up to 6 or more hours per day and have experience in outdoor pursuits. No walkers allowed.
