Day 1/2. Arrive Tokyo, Japan (inflight, D)
We collect you from home for the overnight flight to Japan.  Upon arrival to Tokyo, a half day city tour takes in the main sights of the city including Tokyo Skytree.  Tonight enjoy a welcome dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight: Tokyo, Japan
 
Day 3. Mount Fuji, Japan (BL)
Today take a full day guided tour to Mount Fuji, the nearly perfect shaped volcano.  A visit to the Mount Fuji World Heritage Centre is also included.  See the large replica of Mt Fuji and learn about the religion, craft and literary worlds inspired by Japan’s most sacred mountain.
 
Day 4. Cruise Begins (BD)
The morning is at leisure then travel to Yokohama, once a mere fishing village, today it is one of Japan’s liveliest and most international destinations.  On arrival transfer to the port to board your Holland America ship. Overnight 14 nights: ms Westerdam
 
Day 5.  At Sea (BLD)
At sea enjoy the refined elegance of your surrounds and enrich your journey with the many on board activities. From world class entertainment, delicious dining options, innovative programs, workshops and courses, casino action and fitness, choose to do as much or as little as you please.
 
Day 6/7. Kobe Overnight, Japan (BLD) *
Kobe is one of Japan’s most attractive cities and relatively small in size.  It is a pleasure to wander with a cosmopolitan laid back atmosphere and located between mountains and the sea. Choose shore excursions from scenery and sake, to profound history and rich traditions, to the world’s largest statue of budda.
 
Day 8. At Sea (BLD)
 
Day 9. Naha Overnight, Japan (BLD) *
With a working port that dates back to the 15th century, Naha has a fascinating past but it is the perfect port for excursions to Okinawa.  Shore excursions include panoramic drives, a two mile long cave, Okinawa’s embattled past and many more.
 
Day 10. Ishigaki Island, Japan (BLD) *
Discover picturesque scenery, nature reserves, colourful tropical fish, rare creatures, emerald coloured water, beautiful corals and the famous black pearl.  Explore a nearby island or an entire village preserved in the traditional style or take a water buffalo ride.
 
Day 11. Hualien, Taiwan (BLD) *
Rugged, verdant mountains meet the deep-blue ocean and spectacular scenery abounds.  Discover bustling markets, traditional performances, local specialties and handicrafts, and one of the world’s most thrilling natural wonders.
 
Day 12. Keelung (Taipei) Overnight, Taiwan (BLD) *
Enjoy delicious seafood at the night markets, visit some of Taipei greatest sights, view one of the world’s tallest skyscrapers, travel past towering mountains, lush mystical forests, deep rivers and gorges or bathe in steaming natural hot springs.
 
Day 13. At Sea (BLD)
 
Day 14. Kagoshima, Japan (BLD) *
Kagoshima offers dramatic views, an active volcano and a rich culinary culture.  On shore excursions witness geo thermal geysers and springs, engage in authentic experiences, view beautiful gardens and houses over 250 years old or explore the background of Japan’s Kamikaze pilots.
 
Day 15. Hososhima (Miyazaki), Japan (BLD) *
Tranquil resorts, enticing beaches and one of Japan’s warmest climates the city is surrounded by beautiful beaches and parks and rugged coast.  Nearby Miyazaki is a place of gardens, shrines and Japanese legends.
 
Day 16. At Sea (BLD)
 
Day 17. Shimizu, Japan (BLD) *
Possibly one of Japan’s most beautiful ports, Shimizu has fabulous views of Mount Fuji on a clear day.  National treasures, warlord history, nearby tea plantations, local seafood delicacies and Japan’s biggest haul of tuna make Shimizu a must destination to visit.
 
Day 18/19. Homeward Bound (B, inflight)
Today arrive back in Yokohama and following disembarkation from your Holland America ship, transfer to Tokyo and the airport for the overnight flight to Perth.  On arrival we will see you safely home.
